About the Team:

The team focuses on controversial content, including violence, cybercrime, misinformation, and other abuse categories—ensuring that platform safety evolves with cultural, legal, and societal shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review potentially violative and graphic content aligned with YouTube's content policies.
  • Assess escalated video content issues and coordinate appropriate responses.
  • Contribute to enforcement quality through analysis and communication of policy gaps or challenges.
  • Work with internal tools and data to identify trends, recurring issues, and potential improvements.
  • Participate in testing new processes or tools and provide actionable feedback.
  • Collaborate across policy, legal, and operational teams to refine community standards.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience using spreadsheet and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Academic or professional exposure to topics like freedom of expression, digital rights, or global online safety issues.
  • Experience with SQL and spreadsheet-based reporting.
  • Knowledge of content policy frameworks and previous work in content abuse or moderation teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and investigative skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle high-pressure content decisions.
